Sheri Lynn Photography is launched
I've been doing side "jobs" of photography for several years now. Nothing I've ever gotten paid for, until recently. I love photography. I love: capturing a moment that someone will cherish for years to come; portraying a story in a single photo; stirring emotion with a single shot; and informing and educating with views others may have never seen. That last one I haven't been able to do nearly enough. I've had recent conversations with my 17 yo nephew and 16 yo son that have both taken me back to high school days and the dreams that used to fill my head. Dreams of traveling the world and documenting what was going on; dreams of covering news stories or human interest stories that actually made a difference; dreams of the fingerprint I would leave on this world and the legacy I'd leave my family. Dreams sometimes have a way of fading into the background or being stomped out by life, which is what happened in my life. But recently I've rediscovered the joy that photography used to bring me. I've always loved it, but had not given much thought into how I could share that gift or share that passion of my life. I've been praying a lot lately about that fingerprint I wanted to leave (partly stirred by a sermon series we've got going on at CCCEV). With that has come some opportunities to photograph some friends and family, and also a wedding. What a precious time that was, since it was a coworker and friend's daughter. And out of those opportunities has come this desire to do more. So here I am. To quote a message I heard today, God can't steer a parked car, so I'm in mine and I'm seeing where God wants to drive it.
